Greetings from Dr. Koichi Kubo, Director of Empire Dental Throughout my career as a dentist, I have been blessed with mentors who have guided me since graduating from the Nippon Dental University in 1993. These mentors include my father and former director of Empire Dental, Dr. Yoshihiro Kubo; Dr. Daryl Beach made a significant contribution to Japanese dentistry; periodontal treatment expert Dr. Tsuneo Katayama; Dr. Fred Hasegawa in Seattle; and former president of the American Association of Endodontists, Dr. Stephen Schwartz. From them, I learned to constantly consider:

• What is necessary for lifelong natural teeth retention?
• What are the least harmful treatment methods?
• What treatment would I want if I were the patient?
• What is required to deliver the best treatment?
